The work of the hand

Maria Montessori said: “The hands are the tools of human intelligence”. Nowadays neuro-scientist confirm this by stressing the importance of hands-on learning. In the following movie we would like to show the close link between the hands that make the Montessori materials and the hands that use them in the classroom. The child’s job and our job as material manufacturer takes time, concentration, preciseness and the right skills.

A grateful visit to Nienhuis Asia

In 2017, Henk Fokke and Daniel de Jonge (CEO and CCO of Heutink), visited the Nienhuis factory in Panadura, Sri Lanka to discuss forthcoming plans over the next few years. Fortunately they were able to combine their factory trip with a visit to two nearby disadvantaged schools to hand out little presents from the Heutink Foundation and the Edukans Shoe Box Appeal.
